Is there any way to turn on notifications for certain posts on this site? Just curious if I can be alerted when certain posts have new info released?

Only for Threads, not by poster

Go to the thread that you want to follow and get notifications and on the top of that thread is Thread Tools, click dropdown meanu and you will see subscribe to thread.
